Orchid Ways

We are wheelchair friendly! Come and see a unique spectacular undercover tropical plant & orchid display landscaped amongst rocks & timber. Wander past 5 waterfalls, relax in the BBQ gazebo & enjoy a refreshment from the kiosk. Groups and special functions welcome. Open 9am - 4pm (closed Thursdays) ~ season April - Jan., admission includes a cuppa.

Illawong Sanctuary

A Tourist Award Winning attraction - situated 44km west of Mackay. You can feed the kangaroos, wallabies & emus and even talk to the birds. There is also a guided tour for crocodile, koala & wombat feeding at 2.15pm.

That Sapphire Place

Specialising in Blue & fancy coloured sapphires, African rubies, Solid Opals, Cultured & Freshwater natural coloured pearls.

Sapphire Place has one of the largest collections of rare & unusual Queensland sapphires outside of the central Queensland Gemfields, all cut & polished on the premises. Also local woodcraft, handblown glass, & aboriginal paintings.
